Nets, mats and slings latest.
As I'm sure you all know, at Fryerning we take zero chances when it comes to fish welfare and the protection of our much cherished stocks.
After receiving the following email off Chris Evans from Cefas we have decided to continue using fishery mats, nets and slings until further notice.
‘We are still getting KHV positive results back from sites but I think its because we have caught the tail end of outbreaks. Generally water temperatures below 16 degrees are enough to ensure the virus isnt viable and it has been cold recently. It would depend on the temperatures there. One other thing to note is there are other listed diseases such as SVC that is a cold water disease that we have had an outbreak of recently, so i would recommend keeping biosecurity measures on site throughout the year really.’
Once again all we ask is that equipment is looked after and not abused with all items put back where it was found in a clean and as dry condition as possible.
If you do happen to damage any or found any damaged items please let us know as soon as you can.
Keep an eye on Facebook, Twitter and the website for any further updates!
