Jon Lacey opens his Valley Lake account

The introduction of twenty of our own bred, Fryerning carp into the Valley Lake certainly had a positive impact on the fishing just ask Jon Lacey!

Just days after stocking 20 carp between 18-24lb into The Valley Lake Jon Lacey opened his Fryerning account with a brute of a common and a stunning Mirror.

Twenty Carp such as this just days earlier were stocked into The Valley 

Having spent a fruitless night on the Hatchery Bank the 26 year old retail manager was intent on jumping up to The Car Park Lake for some guaranteed action, however a showing fish further down the lake soon had him changing his mind.

His kit was soon barrowed down to the 30 yard bar and the rods flicked out to where the fish had given him the wink. Moments later he was doing battle with a fish which didnt know when to give up.

The culprit turned out to be a superb conditioned common which went 28lb 10oz on the scales and got Jon off the mark in some style.

Shortly afterward his alarms signalled he was in again and one the prettiest mirrors you could ever see was laying in the bottom of his net further confirming he had made the correct decision to move.
